These
are the last pictures of our model-railroad layout in Pennington
before it was dismantled for the move to Allentown.
It measured 24'x8', allowed up to three trains to run simultaneously,
contained about 1,400 feet of wiring, more than 185 feet of
O gauge track, and 21 switches; all controlled from the central
console, which is pictured in the first row.
Features included an eight-foot quasi-replica of the Brooklyn
Bridge, a hump-back sorting
yard, an engine turntable
and reversing loops.
The
new layout in Allentown is considerably
more ambitious, given the approximately 45'x38' of available
space. It's likely to take some time to complete though!
